Centre Information
Publicity
Most of Ipswich Little Athletics Centre's publicity is raised through the Queensland Times (QT) Newspaper. This comprises regular weekly results and occasional picture stories advertising an upcoming event, and athlete's performance or an item of family interest. Understandably, the QT prefers to deal with just one point of contact at the Centre, and it is for this reason that we ask that any submissions or proposed submission for the newspaper (a story on your Little Athlete, a complaint, some praise etc) be co-ordinated through the Publicity Officer. It will also ensure that any material published in the newspaper does reflect the views of the committee.

Canteen
The canteen should be open on all competition days and nights. Sponsor's food items (e.g. hamburgers, pies, sausage rolls, hot dogs, chicken burgers, fresh ham/chicken/salad rolls), drinks (sports, fizzy, poppers, water, tea and variuos coffees), potato crisps, lollies, and iceblocks are available. Volunteers are always welcome to assist with the serving.

Parent Involvement
A lot of people are needed to conduct the Friday night and Saturday morning competitions efficiently. Please be encouraged to volunteer whenever possible. The children will benifit by:
 A well run competition,
 An earlier finish,
 Your interest in their sport; and
 The same few volunteers will not be stuck every competition day if as many parents as possible take their turn.
For those parents who wish to become Accredited Officials we have test papers available at the Centre. The tests are not difficult. The more accreditied officials we have can only serve to benifit our Centre and also the athletes by making them more aware of the rulings and regulations required.

Smoking at all Little Athletics Events is only permitted in the designated smoking area. The designated smoking area is the area is outside the oval perimeter fence. No smoking is permitted inside the fence

Cheering
You are welcome to cheer, encourage and advise your child and other children whenever possible. However, we ask that all cheering etc., be such that it cannot be considered unfair or derogatory to others. During championships you are advised that UNFAIR tactics e.g.: running beside a competing athlete, or coaching from the inside of the oval may lead to disqualification. All children benifit by help and encouragement and fair play; many are hurt by biased spectors.
Remember our motto is
"Family, Fun and Fitness" ... Let's build upon that motto.
````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Spectators on the Oval
Ipswich Little Athletics have a policy that, for safety reasons, non-competing athletes and parents who are not officiating at an event, are NOT permitted to be on the inside of the running track at any time. All members of Ipswich Little Athletics Centre are requested to abide by this rule.
